Have you ever dreamed that you were practicing another religion?

I grew up Christian, and in college I explored a few different religions.

Even though I have belonged to three different religions throughout my life, I have never had a religious-themed dream from any of the three religions I have practiced throughout my life.
For those who are more religiously devoted than I am: I wonder, have you ever had a dream that involved practicing a different religion from your own?

I think this would be a fascinating topic for the brain to explore, so I would be surprised if this is not a common dream theme.

That is very interesting to me, Cosmo...
My mother : evangelical, father : catholic
They married in a cath. Church, but i was baptized ev.
As a child i liked to go into the cath. Church because of those windows...
So when i was a student of Jung, one of the first lectures are: how to compare the diff. Religions..( Sorry for my engl.)
But the most compelling dreams about religion were those with clear jewish motifs...as an example ..me entering a tent and greeting the others with Shalom...one of my explanations is that christianity comes from judaism...but that does not explain other dreams..more to follow🎏

A great reason to go, I went to a modest church but I can imagine going and seeing the art and stained glass windows would be the best part for a child.

Interesting that this was something he cared so much about. I looked up some of his thoughts on religion. It looks like his position was that it is necessary for optimal psychological health.

I disagree with that conclusion. It says online that he didn’t believe in organized religion, but finds comfort in the idea of God. I think we have seen this same sentiment grow in the past ~20 years I think.

I do think if someone is to practice a religion, they need to understand with some amount of depth at least 3 of them, so that they know what they are choosing to believe in. I think knowing about and studying religions other than your own is a very important part of being religious.

Perhaps Jung felt the same way, I don’t know enough about him.
