Have you had dreams about your teeth?

My most common recurring dream when it comes to stress and anxiety has to do with my teeth falling out, or clenching very hard on them, to the point of shattering them.

Almost everyone I have talked to that has a relatively stressful job has had a teeth-related dream at one point.

What do you think about these dreams? I know I grind my teeth in my sleep occasionally, so maybe there is a physical element to this as well? Perhaps it's because it's hard to get insurance for dental and the cost is expensive? I don't know. I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

From my jungian view: there is a chance that it could symbolize loss of control...because with our teeth we have to bite and then digest...

Interesting... I don't think I associate teeth with a loss of control personally, but when I think back to times of my life where I've had this dream, there were absolutely factors outside of my control. I think they also correlated to times where if something wrong did happen to my teeth, I wouldn't have any money to fix them.

I'm curious if this dream is as common in communities with free dental care.

Aggression?
In Germany dental care was free, here in canada (west coast) we pay...a lot!!!
But i do remember when i was in germany to visit my ill mother, that i had such a dream with loss of my teeth..that was probably my fear that she would not survive a surgery...but she did...🎏

I have these dreams on occasion. Usually one-dimensional dreams, I'm just standing there and my teeth are shattered, loose, and falling out, I can actually feel the pieces in my mouth. Quite a shock when I have one of those.

As far as what they mean?

Beats the crap outta me...
