House of leaves dream.

I did not have this dream recently, but have been meaning to post about it for some time.

I found myself inside a large house. The lights were off and it was dark out, but I could still traverse the space with relative ease because furnishings were absent and moonlight was coming in through the abnormally large windows. I entered another a room and was met with an impossible space given the fact I had seen no corresponding exterior of the room through the windows earlier. I continued entering rooms for some time and was always met with an impossible extension to the house. Eventually I reached a space that I knew to be a kitchen despite there being no evidence of this. I found a door in the floor and opened it only to be met with nothing on the other side. I knew that if I could perceive nothing it would be there, but since it is impossible to perceive nothing I just saw blackness in its stead. At this point I awoke.

I am dissatisfied with my retelling of the dream, but I am equally dissatisfied with having let it sit in my head so long.

Houses with new unforseen rooms, new spaces down halls, and so on are interesting. Even Jung talked about them. This is such a dream. Suggests self exploration or exploration in general. Healthy in that you have a sense of expanding space. I like the part where you look under the floor and find nothingness. Blackness. The unknown. Void. Space. You "substitute" blackness - a known void - like night - for an unknown one.
