It is important to realize that cg jung made a diff. Between the personal shadow (i.e. Jekyll and Hyde, or the image of Dorian Gray in literatur)
And the collective or archetypal shadow...i.e. Hitler or other dictators...🎏

Leonard Cohen and the shadow

By the rivers dark I wandered on

I lived my life In Babylon

And I did forget My holy song

And I had no strength In Babylon

By the rivers dark

Where I could not see

Who was waiting there

Who was hunting me

And he cut my lip

And he cut my heart

So I could not drink From the river dark

And he covered me with everything

And I saw within,
My lawless heart
And my wedding ring,

I did not know
And I could not see
Who was waiting there,
Who was hunting me.

By the rivers dark
I panicked on.
I belonged at last
to Babylon.

Then he struck my heart
With a deadly force,
And he said, ‘This heart:
It is not yours.’

And he gave the wind
My wedding ring;
And he circled us
With everything.

By the rivers dark,
In a wounded dawn,
I live my life
In Babylon.

You forgot Siegmund Freud...said wiki and some other important thinkers, may be not so blurred...

The shadow can be thought of as the blind spot of the psyche.

The repression of one's id, while maladaptive, prevents shadow integration,
the union of id and ego.

While they are regarded as differing on their theories of the function of repression of id in civilization, Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung coalesced at Platonism, wherein id rejects the nomos.[clarification needed

Persona is contrasted against the shadow.

Jung regarded the shadow as unconscious – id and biography – suppressed under the superego's ego-ideal, the way the superego wants to be.

The shadow is projected onto one's social environment as cognitive distortions.

However, the shadow can also be regarded as "roughly equivalent to the whole of the Freudian unconscious",
and Jung himself asserted that "the result of the Freudian method of elucidation is a minute elaboration of man's shadow side unexampled in any previous age".

And to be frank and honest:
Your opinion is irrelevant to the entire psychoanalytic movement...
