What's new

an enigmatic dream in several places and a shift in realities part 1

this dream begins in a a partly underground facility with gad.gets and dials for reading earth and ocean patterns. partly above ground. what stood out was a giant 1 Ft butterfly .like the Victoria butterfly. only it had tomato red wings. i narrowly missed a collision with this butterfly. then when i was reading geology charts, i felt a SWOOSH and the movement of air above my head. the butterfly was flying in circles directly above. i looked around , and ran up the stairs. the butterfly followed, then flew upward. landed directly above the stairs. then the dreamscape changed-something so unusual for me whenever it happens it is noted-to an outside environment. i was in the company of a woman maybe 45 years old, with sandy hair and glasses. we passed a factory,then a tavern ,then in a cemetery. we walked from one length of the cemetery , starting north then almost to the southernmost part of the cemetery. then back again. she would stop to read the inscription on a tombstone.then resume walking. she was plainly searching for something. i thought she was distracted , not in the here and now at all. i decided to see if this was true. so i asked her "which way to Albuquerque?' "there" indicating the general direction of Albuquerque with a sweeping gesture with the first 3 fingers extended and the little finger curled into the palm. what that meant is anybody's guess. but my supposition was correct. she answered but answered in such an offhand way, that i knew this plane of existence was not foremost in her thoughts. {continued}

The butterfly makes me think of Navi from the Ocarina of Time., This is anninterrsting dream scene, it reminds me of some of my dreams where they shift strangely.

i am told this is not an unusual thing to happen in dreams,but with me it happens so rarely-maybe about 5 or 6 times- that whenever it does happen ,it always stands out. and yes, it does resemble somewhat navi and the purpose was remotely similar.except Navi targets enemies and the purpose of the butterfly was to draw my attention to something that requires attention.

Hey, j. I've held off asking this for a while out of worry you will take it the wrong way (as a challenge rather than a curiosity/need to understand), but with that preface I'll go ahead and ask: Why do you split your dreams up as if they are serials rather than whole (holistic) things? What do you mean by doing that rather than letting us see the dream in its entirety, all at once? (I don't even read them until I think you're done piecing it together, but by then it is usually in the past.)

the reason is very simple.it is for the sake of brevity.you are the 2ND person to comment on this forum about that.some dreams are so complex and long it saves space by dividing it into sequences. if the dream is brief enough,then i will put in one post. but if you ever read A SECRET MISSION AND A DANGEROUS SITUATION in 4 parts or WITNESSING EVENTS ON ANOTHER LEVEL OF REALITY in 5 or A JOURNEY THROUGH AN ENDLESS MAZE also in 5 or EXPANDING CONSCIOUSNESS AND ACQUIRING POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ABILITIES IN THE PROCESS in 6, i think you will understand what i mean. could you imagine all of that in one single post? if you had the tenacity to get through all of that, you are one persistent dream analyst. i started that on other forums where they have a restriction on the number of words you can use in one post.they tell you to describe the dream as briefly as possible. but some dreams i could not do this and convey an accurate sense of the dream. details that ,if omitted would give a very incomplete sense of the dream. i do not understand what you mean by "in the past" in any case i do not have a time limit as to interpretations, especially not with a dream interpreter as astute as you. you need not concern yourself as to how long it took you to post your comment. go right ahead and post it. your opinion will be most welcome

Hi again and thanks for the answer. By "in the past" I mean that interest in tying things together or considering insights seems to have moved on by the time all parts are posted. After all, it's a tall "order" to want people to remember various fragments over a bunch of days, right? And telling only part of the dream is like telling a person wanting to hear about you and your adventures that you boarded a train...

...and...

...to be continued...

...and then make them wait before telling them why or where you were going or what happened. What real life person doesn't get frustrated with that lack of complete info, right? It is like artificially/randomly subdividing up something that should be viewed as a single event, so I encourage you to post it as such; at least please consider it now that you have no silly word limit. 🙏

Or if you want to tell the dream across multiple posts, why not at least post them on the same day/same time so people who have the time and desire to view it as a whole can do so? Even if you feel differently, thanks for humoring me with an explanation (curse those short-attention-span people forcing you to bend to their severely limited will!). Some dreams need to be viewed not only as a whole but also in an intricate context to be truly *seen*, of this I am certain, so once all the parts are posted, I'll read them together. :)

yes, that is what i did with this post.both sequences were posted on the same day. march 17th. i see your point and i am glad you agree word limits are silly. that is my feeling exactly toward them. imagine the frustration after you have put all that work in describing your dream,only to be automatically cut off and see a notice YOUR DREAM CONTAINS TOO MANY WORDS. so i devised a way to get around it,by sending in the required number of words and then posting them in excerpts. and after all that the dream interpreter did not seem to understand these were different parts of the same dream(even though i printed the word CONTINUED at the bottom) and treated them as if they were separate dreams, sometimes with very amusing results. so i looked for a new forum . and this one looked like the best choice. so i will take your advice and rid myself of an obsolete habit, which is unnecessary here. all the parts are posted to this dream,nothing more to write so you can tell me what you think of it. i am really looking forward to your opinion
