Hi, first time poster and I’m hoping someone can possibly give me some insight on a quick dream I had today.

The dream starts out with me in a room of a house that is dimly lit. I immediately see a whole bunch of roaches and beetles crawling all over the table that was in the room. I feel disgusted because I’m a person that doesn’t like bugs and are scared of them (any bugs). I run out of the room to see both my mom and dad (they are both deceased.) My mom looks worried about all the bugs and so does dad. I walk up to my dad and I strangely ask him, “do we have to call a priest for this?” He shrugs and says he isn’t sure. After he says that I had a feeling that we might need a priest.

Then I woke up. It was very weird of me to have a dream with both my parents in it and bugs. If I dream of my parents, it’s usually just one or the other in my dreams.

Now onto your dream.
Dimly lit room = Uncertainty or hidden emotions; subconscious fear or unresolved inner conflict.

Bugs crawling on table meaning=
Roaches = filth, fear, something persistent and unwanted.
Beetles = slow transformation, but also heaviness.
Table = family dynamics, shared space, communication.
Interpretation: feeling overwhelmed by emotional “infestation” deep discomfort with current life situation or internal emotional/mental clutter. You're viewing family life and commincation that was once stable and normal as having become chaotic and distressing slowly over time...leaving you feeling oppressed.


Disgust + fear of bugs = Direct confrontation with personal fears or suppressed issues. Emotional contamination.

Running out of the room = Avoidance response. Desire to escape facing something unpleasant or threatening.

Seeing mom and dad = Seeking emotional grounding or guidance from parental figures. Subconscious pulling up deep-rooted security figures when overwhelmed.

Parents looking worried = Reinforces the seriousness of the issue; even internal representations of guidance don’t have control.

Asking dad: “Do we need a priest?” = Symbolism: Feeling like the situation is spiritually wrong, cursed, or beyond normal help.
Interpretation: subconsciously viewing the issue as severe needing spiritual cleansing, not just emotional or practical aid.

Dad unsure = No clear internal answer or direction. Support system (even subconscious) is uncertain.

Feeling they might need a priest =
Guilt, spiritual fear, or the presence of something “unclean” or unresolved.

Possibly links to religious upbringing or fear of judgment.

Thank you for everyone that responded. I'm not sure how much some of you are into spiritual type of things but when I had this dream that involved both of my parents, they seemed very worried about something. On August 1st, I almost fainted twice and found out that my blood pressure was very high and I could've had a stroke had I not gone to the ER. I was admitted in the ICU for a day to be certain I'd be ok. I'd like to believe that my parents came to me because they were warning me about something bad that was going to happen.

I believe in the spiritual side of dreams too, I don't think given the minds ability anything should be ruled out. I'm glad your well, and that perhaps you're parents did come check on you out of worry.
Perhaps it's also something you need to figure out so nothing further happens.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks it was a warning to me. I am actively on the right path to getting better after being in the hospital.
